Current estimates for adults age 60 and over with Mental Retardation and other developmental disabilities (e.g., cerebral palsy, autism, and epilepsy) range between 600,000 and 1.6 million. This population is growing rapidly and it is expected that by 2030, there will be several million. (AAMR, 2006).
