Dreams With Wings differentiates its service from other providers by the level of care the staff provide to their clients as well as the philosophy of each clients’ full inclusion into society.    The following is a description of programs and services Dreams With Wings provides:

Case Management

Dreams With Wings has a professionally trained team of case managers that assist in planning and coordinating individual support needs.   Our case managers support the person-centered approach whereby goals are set so that individuals and their support team can work toward the life the individual wants to live.

Residential Supports

Dreams With Wings supports individuals through three different residential options, Staffed Residences, Family Home Providers and Supported Apartments. 

A staffed residence is a home located in a local neighborhood  that is supported by a staff member.  Each staffed residence is designed to feel like a home to those who live there.  Generally, three individuals that require 24 hour support with similar interests live together in our staffed residence.

A family home provider is a family or individual in the community that supports an individual in their home.

Individuals may choose to living independently in one of our supported apartments.  Support for these individuals is tailored to meet specific needs such as paying bills, grocery shopping, housekeeping, laundry, etc.  Twenty four hour support is not considered necessary in supported apartments and therefore not available.

Adult Day Services

Dreams With Wings adult day training center, Dream Builders, mission is to create a meaningful day in the community.   This is accomplished through volunteering, arts, physical exercise, and local neighborhood attractions.  Dream Builders also offers an Adult Literacy Program and a Health and Wellness Program.  These programs are offered on-site.

In Home and Respite Supports

Dreams With Wings recognizes that some individuals want to continue to live with their family in their own home, so in-home supports are offered to those individuals.  These supports allow individuals to receive training to become independent or to get out and explore their community.  A compatible staff member provides these supports.

Respite services are provided to individuals for families that may need a break and can be provided in the individuals’ home or in the community.

Supported Employment

Supported Employment provides individualized job development, specialized job training, and the availability of support to maintain a job.

Therapy Services

Dreams With Wings offers individual physical, speech, and occupational therapy services. 

Behavior Supports

Behavior Supports that are provided by Dreams With Wings are based on the principals of Applied Behavior Analysis.  This process is designed specifically for an individual by conducting an assessment that determines what environmental or internal factors may be contributing to problematic behaviors.  A plan is developed with the goal to reduce these behaviors.

Leisure Outreach

Leisure Outreach is a program that is designed to increase social relationships and independence, while creating wonderful opportunities for individuals to explore their community.  These events include museum tours, bowling trips, Louisville BATS games, etc.  These events have a fee, are well supervised and are a great way to meet new friends.
