Teen & YA Education Program
The Teen and YA Education Program provides individual centered programming and services to folks aged 13-29 with intellectual disabilities and developmental disabilities, including Autism.
Dreams With Wings staff focus on building strengths, teaching individuals how to overcome challenges, and use hands-on learning techniques tailored to develop social, emotional, and physical skills.
Our after school programs include: drama classes with performances, art classes with gallery shows, weekly social group events, movement classes, community-based social skills classes, and more! The Teen and Young Adult Program runs from the second week of January through the end of May and resumes the second week of September through the third week of December.
Our programs are led by talented professionals from arts organizations that include the Louisville Ballet, Commonwealth Theater Center, the Little Loomhouse Gallery, Kentucky Shakespeare, individual teaching artists, and professional educators because their expertise results in high quality programming.
Our first step when onboarding interested new clients is to fill out our application using the link below and submit it to Heather Sauer via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Once received, an introductory call will be scheduled to review the application and discuss how to join our programs. We look forward to serving you!
The cost is $25 per event day unless otherwise noted on Program Schedule. There 3 ways to fund the classes:
1. Private-pay (via debit/credit card, cash or check), that is reimbursed by some private insurance companies (check with your provider);
2. Program Scholarships (F.E.A.T. and Kosair generously award some partial and full scholarships for individuals to attend our programs). See the Financial Policy and Scholarship Request forms for more information.
3. Michelle P Waiver Respite funds may be used for in-person sessions. Contact Heather Sauer, email@example.com, to initiate and coordinate use of Michelle P Waiver funds for qualifying programs.
